Day of return to London.
But before leaving......
| We
ate in this Chinese restaurant, sitting right over the water. (Had a technical malfunction in this
blog. I had written all about this lunch experience, and it vanished,
so am repeating this.) The lunch menu was tiny, maybe 6 items. We got
the a la carte menu. WOW. Indonesian this 'n that, Singapore this 'n
that, Malaysian this 'n that, Chinese this 'n that, and I likely missed
an ethnic group. Even had Singapore chili crab and Singapore black
pepper crab. Forgot to take a picture, unfortunately, as some of the
dishes were well presented. The flower radishes looked great. Spring
rolls. Lettuce wraps. We thought we'd ordered vegetables in lettuce,
but instead got some sort of vegetarian stuffing. Singapore noodles.
Oh no. Not good. Chicken and vegetables. Hardly any vegetables, but
plenty of chicken in large chunks. Not tasty. No garlic, no flavour.
One quarter duck - good. Some crispy skin - delicious. Got a larger amount of duck than we thought we'd get. Pancakes???
Tiny crepes spread with hoisin sauce, with a bit of green onion and
cucumber, and then the duck pieces. Wrap it up to eat. Am thinking
perhaps the lunch cooks really know how to cook the very limited lunch
menu. Hope the evening cooks can cook the wide selection of other
dishes on the menu. I wouldn't chance ordering the Singapore chili or
black pepper crab. Likely would be disappointing. Trip Advisor reviews: 257 in total as of this date, 120 say excellent, 74 say very good. What do I know. TripAdvisorReviews Rob and Janet. It was so sunny in the restaurant, had to wear my sunglasses. Waterfront area is a pleasant place to explore. Weather was very unsettled. Sunny, then rain, then sunny, then rain, and it was quite cool and windy. Could have used some winter clothes when walking along the oceanside. Outside the restaurant - navy ship Got the 3:00 train to London. Arrived 6:20 PM, got home 8:00 PM. TECHNICAL ISSUESWhat I just wrote here has disappeared. Repeat: having trouble with the cursor/touchpad on this computer. Seem to be stuck in the caption mode too. Changed touchpad settings to make it work slower, no success. Cursor flits around. Try to select/cut text/pictures - have to try several times before it works. So it's taking more time to do this blog than is necessary. |
